CAKE DEBUT: Rage of Poseidon by Anders Nilsen

The Rage of Poseidon is a 48 page limited edition accordian book of short stories re-imagining stories and characters from Greek and Christian religious stories. Included are stories about Prometheus, Isaac and Abraham, Jesus and Aphrodite and the Devil as well as the titular Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. The stories are accompanied by silhouetted images of the characters and events depicted. The project evolved out of a series of adaptations for slide readings of short pieces from my sketchbooks, and is being released in conjunction with CAKE and with an exhibition of new drawings by the author, Adam and Eve Sneak Back into the Garden of Eden to Steal More Apples, opening the same weekend at the Elmhurst Art Museum.
