Directions
CAKE will take place at the Irish American Heritage Center (4626 North Knox Avenue, Chicago IL). The Heritage Center is located on the west side of Knox Avenue. Here’s how to get there:
PUBLIC TRANSIT!
We recommend taking public transit to CAKE (it’s easier and better for our city). Google maps is a reliable way of planning your trip via public transit.
By Train:
Take the CTA’s Blue Line El to the Montrose stop (9 minute walk northeast)
When you exit the Montrose Blue Line stop, turn left (east) down Montrose.
At the end of the bridge, you’ll see the walk path (pictured at the right), which leads directly into the neighborhood.
This walk path will lead you to two options to get to the IAHC:
The first street will be Kenton (north) to Wilson (left/west) to Knox (right/north).
Or you can remain on the path which will run through the neighborhood, parallel to the expressway, and exit at Knox (north) to the IAHC.
By Bus:
#81 Lawrence Bus to Lawrence and Kilpatrick (6 minute walk southeast)
#78 Montrose Bus to the Montrose Blue Line Stop (9 minute walk)
Parking:
The Irish American Heritage Center has two parking lots, on the north and south side of the building.
Lodging
There is no official hotel associated with CAKE.
Any hotel on the Blue Line is a decent choice if the CTA is your mode of transit.
For those staying near O’Hare we recommend The Hilton O'Hare or The Marriott O’Hare, an easy Blue Line ride and a short walk to our venue.
The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is on Michigan Ave and is the venue for Perfectly Acceptable Fest, one of our sibling shows!
The Robey Wicker Park
For a more boutique style hotel in a central Northside location near Quimby's Bookstore!
The Guesthouse Hotel in Andersonville is a 30 minute ride via the Lawrence Avenue bus from our venue
