Applications for TRANSIT's Third Annual CHIPRC Inbound Residency Are Open!

2016's TRANSIT Artists in Residence, Sarah McNeil and Chris Gooch, who traveled to Chicago from Australia!We're excited to announce that applications for TRANSIT and the Chicago Publisher's Resource Center (CHIPRC)'s third annual inbound comics artist residency are now open! This residency gives artists from outside the Chicago area the opportunity to focus on their craft with the goal of self-publishing new work, as well as to share their process with others in Chicago’s self-publishing community. This two-week residency will take place from May 28 - June 11, 2017, and it will culminate with table space and a presentation given during the 2017 Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE), which will take place on Saturday, June 10 & Sunday, June 11. Featuring comics for sale, workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions, and more, CAKE is dedicated to fostering community and dialogue among independent artists, small presses, publishers, and readers. The sixth annual CAKE will take place Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Center on Halsted, 3656 North Halsted Avenue in Chicago.
